Use the Quick Launcher
Pin projects to a small window that can stay on top, and start or stop them without switching windows.
The Quick Launcher is a small, separate window for the projects you use most. It controls commands; to see their output, open the main window.
Pin a project
- In the sidebar, open a project’s ⋮ menu.
- Choose Add to Quick Launcher. The launcher opens with the project in it.
To remove a project, choose Remove from Quick Launcher in the same menu, or in the project’s ⋮ menu inside the launcher.
Use the launcher
- The play or stop button on a project starts or stops the whole project, like Start all and Stop all.
- Click a project to expand it and see its apps. Each command has its own Run, Stop and Restart buttons.
- Drag a project by its handle to reorder the list.
- A project’s ⋮ menu opens its folder in your editor or an external terminal.
- The dashboard button next to the title opens the main Dockmaster window. The − button hides the launcher.
Show, hide and stay on top
- Toggle the launcher with the Quick Launcher button in the main window’s top bar, or from the tray icon.
- Settings → Behaviour has Show the Quick Launcher on startup and Keep the Quick Launcher above other windows. Both are on by default.
Keep Dockmaster running in the tray
With Keep running in the tray when the window is closed turned on, closing the main window keeps Dockmaster and your commands running. Use the tray icon to Show Dashboard, toggle the Quick Launcher, or Quit.
When you quit while commands or terminal programs are running, Dockmaster lists them and asks you to confirm, because quitting stops them all.
