How it works

From scattered terminals to one calm hub

Three steps. No config files, no YAML, no daemons to babysit.

    Add a project folder

    Browse to a folder and Dockmaster finds the apps inside — frontend, API, workers — with their commands and ports. Adjust folders, env vars and ports per app.

  2. 02

    Start the whole stack

    Start or stop every app with one click, or run a single command. Stopping kills the whole process tree, so nothing is left holding a port.

  3. 03

    Work in the terminal

    Open shells and AI tools like Claude Code in tabs you can split. Every command’s output opens as its own interactive tab, with live status in the sidebar.

Projects

Point it at a folder. It finds the apps.

Browse to a project and Dockmaster detects the apps inside, with their commands and ports. Node, Go, Python, Rust, .NET, Java, Ruby, PHP, Elixir, Deno, Flutter and Docker Compose are all recognised.

Activity

Everything running, across every project

The Activity tab lists every command started since Dockmaster opened, across all your projects, with its status, ports and uptime. Failed commands rise to the top, and a click on any row takes you to its output.

Source control

Commit without leaving the terminal

Source Control sits in the panel beside your terminals. Review what changed, stage it, write a message and commit, then sync with your remote in one click. Diffs open in your editor.

Quick launcher

Always one click away

Pin the projects you use most to a compact window that can stay on top. Reorder them with a drag handle, expand one to see its apps, and start or stop anything without switching windows.

Four themes, switched in Settings. Terminals follow the theme too.

Terminal-first workspace

Real shells for every project — PowerShell, Git Bash, WSL, bash, zsh or fish — in tabs you can rename, reorder and split up to four ways.

AI coding tools

Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and Aider launch in one click when they’re installed. Shift+Enter adds a new line, and you get a notification when a tool needs you.

Commands as terminal tabs

Every command runs in a real terminal: colours intact, keyboard input works, and Find searches the output. Close the tab and the command keeps running.

Picks up where you left off

Tabs, splits and the recent output of every shell are saved when you quit. Next time, the shells start fresh with their previous output shown above.

Per-app env & ports

Set environment variables and ports per app, or load them from a .env file. Dockmaster marks an app healthy once its port answers, and links each port from the side panel.

Device emulators

Start and stop Android emulators from the Devices tab on any platform — and iOS simulators on macOS.

Secure by design

A headless core talks to the app over stdio only — no open ports, no firewall prompts — and the window runs a locked-down renderer.
